WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: June 30, 2023, at 4:37 p.m.
WHERE: 700 block of Sunnyside St. 77076.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $170,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $15,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation (currently, appears to be accidental).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find smoke coming from a 1-story house and made an attack on the fire. A primary search was completed with a couple of dogs found. Crews removed the dogs and gave them oxygen with pet-masks. A fan was used to ventilate the home and a secondary search was completed. The fire was quickly extinguished, and the utilities were turned off. The resident was advised to have the electricity and gas checked by a technician prior to turning them back on. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. 28 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 34, 31, 58, 67 and 43.
