Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 7900 Bellfort Street about 8:35 p.m. on Monday (June 19).
The identity of the victim, believed to be in his late 20s, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Herrera, C. Vaughn and A. Finlay reported: Officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and observed a male on the ground. It appeared he had a gunshot wound. Witnesses told officers the man was standing at a bus stop when a light blue or green Nissan (either a Maxima or Altima) drove up. A passenger inside the vehicle fired several shots at the victim and the driver then fled the scene southbound on Glen Valley Drive. The victim was struck multiple times, but managed to run a short distance to where he was located. Paramedics were called and pronounced the man deceased.
