Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 9900 Greenwich Street about 6:05 p.m. on Sunday (April 30).
The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. Jewell and Officer C. Song reported: The victim was a front seat passenger in a silver Jeep Wrangler traveling northbound at the above address. As the vehicle was approaching the intersection of Rhobell Street, the driver stated that he observed a child in the roadway and put on his brakes. The Jeep veered to the right, entered a ditch, struck a concrete culvert and flipped onto its roof. Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The female child, 8, sustained minor injuries from flying debris from the vehicle and was treated at an area hospital. The male driver, 34, sustained minor injuries and was treated at an area hospital. No charges have been filed at this time as the investigation is continuing. JFC/SOA 5-2-23 Inc #060921223-D
