DAMAGE: $20,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional (Mechanical failure, malfunction, other).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from the roof of a 2-story apartment building and located a fire directly below an air-condition unit. Crews extinguished and contained the fire to the roof and attic space directly below it. It appeared to have been caused by a short circuit in the wiring. Firefighters from Stations 6, 31, 11, 15 and 62 responded to this incident.
