Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a male at 8100 Long Point Road about 10:50 p.m. on Wednesday (March 8).
The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. HPD Homicide Division Detectives M. Perez and B. Stephens reported: Officers were dispatched to a crash at the above address and observed a truck that struck a light pole. When paramedics checked on the male driver, they noticed he had suffered at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Evidence obtained thus far indicates the male was in the parking lot of a post office when he apparently got into a verbal confrontation with another male. When the victim was leaving in his truck, the male suspect shot him. The victim drove out of the parking lot, lost control of his vehicle and struck the utility pole. The unknown suspect was last seen riding a bicycle eastbound on Long Point Road. Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS. JFC/VHS 3-9-23 Inc #033846123
