Houston police have released a composite sketch of a suspect wanted in the shooting of a juvenile female at 6405 West Bellfort Avenue about 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 1.
The suspect is described only as a Hispanic male with a slim build and thin mustache. A composite sketch of the suspect is attached to this news release.
The victim, 12, was transported to an area hospital and treated for a graze wound to her neck.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective S. Cole reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex at the above address. Witnesses informed officers they heard gunshots and noticed the female victim suffering from a graze wound.
A witness noticed the suspect discharging a firearm in the courtyard, confronted him and wrestled the firearm away from him. The suspect fled the scene.
