| Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash at 8900 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) about 10:50 p.m. last Friday (December 16).
The identity of the deceased male, 62, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Le and Officer S. Bouarar reported:
A white Honda Civic and a silver Chevrolet Impala were traveling northbound at the entrance ramp near the above address when a pedestrian entered the on-ramp lane. The pedestrian was first struck by the Honda and then by the Impala, traveling behind the Honda. Both drivers stopped and called 9-1-1.
Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased. The drivers of the Honda and Impala were determined not to be impaired and were questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
