Houston police have learned a man critically injured in a crash at 3300 Canal Street about 2:20 p.m. on September 1 has died.
The identity of the victim, 71, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer D. Ortega reported: The victim, a pedestrian, was in a crosswalk on North Sampson Street when he was struck by a black Ford F-150 pickup truck making a left turn from Canal Street. Paramedics transported the pedestrian to a hospital where doctors pronounced him deceased on Saturday (Sept. 3). The male driver, 51, was questioned and issued a citation in the crash for failing to yield the right of way to a pedestrian. The investigation is continuing. JFC/VHS 9-6-22 Inc #117748422-S
