Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 10500 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) service road about 12:50 a.m. on Saturday (Aug. 6).
The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Pham and Officer F. Flynn reported: The male was driving a gray Chrysler 300 at a high rate of speed northbound at the above address. It appears he did not realize the roadway had a dead end, with only a right turn. The Chrysler jumped the curb at the dead end and struck a concrete freeway pillar. The impact caused the driver to be ejected and the vehicle to burst into flames. Paramedics pronounced the driver deceased at the scene. The investigation is continuing. JFC/VHS 8-8-22 Inc #104364522-B
