Houston police are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect driver wanted in a hit and run crash at 6000 Bissonnet Street about 12:25 a.m. on June 5.
The male victim, Luis Chiapas, 49, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition. A photo of Mr. Chiapas is attached to this news release.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Officer A. Gomez reported:
Mr. Chiapas was crossing the street from the westbound lanes near the above address. The driver in a vehicle of unknown make and model was traveling westbound near the same location and struck Chiapas as he attempted to cross the street. The driver did not stop to provide medical assistance and fled the scene. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported Chiapas to the hospital.
Investigators believe the vehicle to be a red SUV of unknown make and model. There is no known suspect description at this time.
