WHERE: 8400 block of Sharpcrest, 77036
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $184,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $16,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Failure of equipment or heat source.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within seven minutes to find smoke coming from a 1-story house. Fire was visible at the front door and crews exposed the area, containing the fire to the exterior wall and interior adjoining wall. The utilities were secured and crews made sure there were no hotspots. Firefighters cleared the smoke from the home and removed the burned material to the front yard away from the structure. Crews from Stations 51, 68, 83, 60 and 76 responded to this incident.
