The identity of the deceased male, 35, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dunn and Officer Z. Radcliff reported:

A dark-colored SUV or minivan was traveling northbound on the freeway near the above address and pulled over on the shoulder of the freeway near the Little York Road exit.  A male pedestrian then exited the vehicle and ran southbound on the freeway into oncoming traffic. The SUV or minivan then drove away after the pedestrian exited and did not return.

The driver of the Jeep did not stop to render aid and fled the scene.

The driver of the Freightliner Truck remained at the scene, was questioned and released with no charges filed at this time.
