WHAT: House Fire

WHERE: 2700 block of Grand Falls, 77345
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $295,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $75,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional (heat source too close to combustibles).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find smoke coming from the side of a 2-story house and the attached garage. They made an offensive attack and conducted a primary search. The home was ventilated, and firefighters contained the fire which was on the exterior wall of the garage and house and extended to the garage attic. The utility company and the American Red Cross were notified. The homeowner had been burning grass and thought it was fully extinguished when it caught the side of the garage on fire. Crews from Stations 15, 64, 102, 103, 104, 101 and 30 responded to this incident.
