Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the apparent drowning of a juvenile male at 10801 Scott Street (Sims Bayou) about 11:35 p.m. on Thursday (June 2).
The identity of the victim, 15, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. Simmons and Detective L. Kauffman reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a missing juvenile call at the above address about 7:40 p.m. and were met by individuals walking along the bayou. Officers were advised the victim was fishing with another juvenile male when he slipped and fell into the bayou about 5 p.m. The other juvenile male ran to get help and to notify the victim’s family.
HPD’s Dive Team responded to the scene and recovered the victim’s body. Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene. An autopsy will be conducted to verify his cause of death.
