Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 6998 Renwick that occurred about 7:40 p.m. on August 22.
The male victim was transported to Southwest Memorial Hermann Hospital where, on Wednesday (Sept. 6), he was pronounced dead. His identity and cause of death are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer S. Le reported:
The driver of a maroon Chevrolet Equinox was traveling westbound in 5800 block of Bellaire. As the driver was entering the intersection with a green light, the Equinox struck the victim who was walking in the crosswalk. According to multiple witnesses, the victim was crossing the street against the light. The driver, who exhibited no signs of intoxication, remained at the scene and was questioned and released.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
