The death of a infant found in the 5100 block of Ingomar Way about 1:35 p.m. today (May 20) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The identity of the female infant, 10 months, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Montalvo reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to HCA Houston Healthcare – Pearland for a report of a non-responsive infant. Officers learned the infant’s mother left her in a car seat inside a vehicle that was not running for several hours. Once the mother realized she had left the infant in the vehicle, she returned and found her unresponsive. Doctors pronounced the infant deceased after the mother transported her to the hospital.
The investigation is ongoing, and the case will be referred to a grand jury.
