| Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 2002 South Wayside Drive about 7:15 p.m. on Thursday (February 17).
The identity of the male victim, 60, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Hroch and Officer K. Stanley reported:
The victim was driving a silver Hyundai Santa Fe eastbound near the above address when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway, crashed through a fence and struck a tree. The victim was transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
The investigation is continuing.
