WHAT: House Fire
WHEN: February 3, 2022 at 10:47 p.m.
WHERE: 8200 block of Bonner, 77017
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $50 thousand in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $300 thousand in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional (space heater).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find fire coming through the roof of a house and declared a defensive attack. They protected nearby exposures and requested the power company for downed powerlines. A primary search was not possible due to the conditions; however, the resident was safely outside the home and advised he was the only one in the house. HFD Rehab and a Metro bus were requested for a warming station. The fire was extinguished, and HFD Arson investigators determined the cause was unintentional due a space heater. Firefighters from Stations 23, 20, 26, 29, 36, 52, 61, Rescue 42 and Rehab 17 responded to this incident.
