Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 11100 Cullen Boulevard about 4 p.m. last Friday (January 14).
The identity of the male victim, 35, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeants F. Briones, S. Jewell and Officer K. Stout reported:
According to witnesses, the victim was operating a three-wheel motorcycle, weaving in and out of northbound traffic near the above address, when he appeared to lose control. A preliminary investigation indicated the three-wheeler failed to stay in a single lane and crossed over into another lane of traffic. The three-wheeler then went into a parking lot on the east side of the roadway and went through a chain link fence.
The vehicle continued northbound and struck a metal gate, which became dislodged, went airborne and then struck a parked unoccupied SUV in the parking lot. The three-wheeler continued northbound and struck a brick wall before coming to a stop.
The victim was transported to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
No other persons or vehicles were involved in the crash. The investigation is continuing.
