Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 13900 Main Street (U.S. Highway 90) about 8:10 p.m. on Monday (Jan. 3).
The identity of the male victim, 51, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer W. Smith reported: The victim, a pedestrian, crossed the eastbound lanes – not in a crosswalk – at the above address, went over the center concrete median and continued to attempt to cross the westbound lanes of traffic. At that time, the male was struck by a gray Honda Civic traveling westbound. The driver swerved to try to avoid hitting the pedestrian. Paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene. The male driver, 30, immediately stopped. He was questioned, did not show signs of intoxication and was released. The investigation is continuing. JFC/JKS 1-4-22 Inc #001172122-R
