Investigation into Fatal Crash at 4300 Telephone Road

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 4300 Telephone Road about 3:15 p.m. on Monday (Nov. 1).

The identity of the male victim, 62, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Reinoso and Officer D. Vinton reported:

The driver of a blue Ford F-150 pickup truck was backing out of a private parking lot into a moving lane of traffic on Telephone Road at the above address.  A pedestrian (victim), who crossed the roadway – not in a crosswalk or intersection – was struck by the truck.  The victim was transported to Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.  

The male driver, 47, remained at the scene and did not show signs of intoxication.  He was questioned and released pending further investigation.
