Investigation into Assault at 2502 North Loop West

Houston police are investigating the assault of a man at 2502 North Loop West (North Interstate Highway 610 West) about 2:20 p.m. on Saturday (October 30).  

The victim, Alfonso Jimenez, 69, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.  

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives A. Velazquez and L. Castellanos reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to an assault at a gas station at the above address and learned a homeless male got into an altercation with Mr. Jimenez inside the gas station.  The male suspect pulled a machete, struck Jimenez in the head and then fled the scene on his bicycle after a witness intervened.  Jimenez was transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to the hospital.
