Houston police have released surveillance video of two suspects wanted in the aggravated assault of an off-duty Harris County Sheriff’s deputy in the 14400 block of Stone Park Road about 1:30 a.m. on October 19.
Surveillance video of the two suspects, described only as black males, can be viewed on the HPD YouTube channel at https://youtu.be/sfSd9Bqw0qQ
The Harris County Sheriff’s deputy was not injured in the incident.
HPD Major Offenders Division Detective G. Robertson reported:
An off-duty Harris County Sheriff’s deputy was at his residence on Stone Park Road when a neighbor texted him that two male suspects, believed to have previously broken into their vehicles, were back and walking around the neighborhood. The deputy put on a reflective law enforcement hoodie and his service belt and went outside to speak with his neighbor.
While outside, the deputy and neighbor saw the suspects walking down the street. When the deputy approached them, both suspects ran to a vehicle parked in the 14400 block of Twin Twist Court and drove away. The off-duty deputy then followed the suspects in his personal vehicle. As he did so, the suspects fired several shots at the deputy, but he was not struck. The deputy then stopped following the two suspects.
Further investigation indicated the suspects were also involved in a vehicle theft in the 14000 block of Fondren Road and are believed to be responsible for at least 24 burglaries of motor vehicles that same night.
Anyone with information on the identities of the wanted suspects or in these cases is urged to contact the HPD Major Offenders Division at 713-308-3100 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
