Houston police are investigating the death of a man found at 2510 Beatty Street about 8:40 a.m. on Tuesday (August 24).
The identity of the victim, 40, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives W. Huff and J. Nguyen reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting/sniper call that ultimately turned out to be a person down in an apartment at the above address.
Upon initiating a limited search of the apartment, officers found the victim in the middle of the living room area. The victim had suffered multiple lacerations from an unknown instrument and was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers completed a protective sweep through the apartment and found no-one else inside.
There is no known motive nor suspect(s).
