Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 8525 West Montgomery Road about 1 p.m. on Saturday (Aug. 21).
The male, 27, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
The male shooter, 59, was detained for questioning. He was not injured.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers J. Kimbrough and M. Combs reported:
A man (shooter) was at work at a business at the above address when a male known to him arrived and asked associates about the man’s whereabouts. The man was outside on a work break when he and the male got into an argument. At that time, the man stated the male pulled out a firearm. The man pulled his own gun and stated he shot the male in self-defense.
The male – who was shot – crashed his vehicle at the scene and fled on foot. Patrol officers later found him in the area. Paramedics were called and transported the male to the hospital. The shooter left the scene and later made contact with investigators to provide a statement. No charges have been filed at this time as the investigation is continuing.
