Houston police have released surveillance video of a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 6160 Glenmont Drive about 9:10 p.m. on November 27, 2020.
The suspect is an unknown male seen driving a black or gray-colored Jeep. Video of the suspect and the Jeep is on the HPD YouTube channel at: https://youtu.be/AsazaW0yY8E
The victim, Selvin Ramirez, 39, was pronounced dead at the scene by Houston Fire Department paramedics.
HPD Homicide Division Detective M. Barrow reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex at the above address. Upon arrival, they found the victim, Mr. Ramirez, deceased in a parking lot.
According to a witness, Ramirez was meeting with some males when a black or gray-colored Jeep (likely a Wrangler), containing a driver and possibly a passenger, pulled up. The witness stated someone inside the vehicle fired a gunshot, striking Ramirez. The occupants of the Jeep then fled the scene.
Further investigation determined Ramirez had been involved in a minor vehicle collision in front of the apartment complex. The suspect followed Ramirez, who was driving a Chevrolet pickup truck, into the complex. The suspect vehicle (Jeep) can be seen leaving the apartment complex, only to return a short time later when the shooting occurs.
At this time, it is believed Ramirez and the suspect did not know each other.
Anyone with information on the suspect, the vehicle or in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
