Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 6700 Lockwood Drive about 5 a.m. on Wednesday (July 14).
The victim, 43, was transported to an area hospital where he was treated and released.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives A. Johnson and S. Hall reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting in the 6900 block of Landor Street and learned the victim was shot while stopped at a red light at the intersection of Lockwood and Shreveport Boulevard.
A preliminary investigation determined the victim was headed home from another location when a male in a brown sedan fired several shots at his vehicle. The victim was struck in the upper left shoulder and was able to drive home and called 9-1-1. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to the hospital.
The suspect is described only as a black male.
