| Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6300 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 12:05 a.m. today (June 24).
The identity of the female victim, age unknown, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer C. Brothers reported:
The victim, a pedestrian, was possibly attempting to cross the freeway at the above address when she was struck by a blue Volkswagen Tiguan traveling northbound on the freeway. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim deceased.
The female driver, 21, remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
