Houston police are investigating the fatal crash at 12500 Northwest Freeway (U.S. Highway 290) service road that occurred about 3:15 p.m. last Friday (February 12).
The identity of the juvenile female victim, 3, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer T. Smith reported:
The driver of a green Ford F150 pickup truck was traveling southbound on Bingle Road at the intersection of the Northwest Freeway service road and ran the red light. The pickup then struck a silver Toyota Sienna minivan traveling westbound on the service road. The Toyota then struck a white Honda Accord, also traveling westbound on the service road
A juvenile passenger in the Toyota was ejected. She was transported to by Houston Fire Department paramedics to Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. A second child, 5, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital. The driver of the Ford was also transported to the hospital in an unknown condition. The driver of the Honda was not inured.
The investigation is continuing.
