| Charges have been filed against two suspects arrested in the fatal shooting of two men that occurred at 5959 Guhn Road about 12:20 a.m. on April 11.
The suspects, Jose Angel Rodriguez (H/m, 36) and Ramon Carlos Hernandez (H/m, 39), are charged with murder in the 337th and 351st State District Courts, respectively. They are accused in the deaths of Ruben Mata, 29, and Darren Price, 26.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Brooks and Detective L. Lovelace reported:
While en route to a shooting call at a motel at the above address, officers saw a dark-colored vehicle, with the rear window shot out, crashed at a nearby location. Officers then noticed a male slumped over the steering wheel. They forced entry into the vehicle, pulled out the man and provided medical assistance. Paramedics arrived and pronounced the victim, Mr. Price, deceased from a gunshot wound.
Other responding officers arrived to the motel and found a male victim lying on the third floor hallway, also suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics transported the victim, Mr. Mata, to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Witnesses reported a verbal altercation between two groups of friends at the motel. At some point, one person from each group began firing at the other group. Multiple persons of interest were detained at the scene and questioned.
Further investigation identified Hernandez and Rodriguez as suspects in this case. Investigators determined Rodriguez, Hernandez and Mata confronted a group of males with whom they exchanged gunfire after a verbal altercation in the third floor hallway of the motel. Mata was fatally struck. As others involved fled the scene, Hernandez fired a gun at a vehicle driven by Price, who was also fatally struck.
Hernandez and Rodriguez, in custody in the Harris County Jail on unrelated charges, were subsequently charged for their roles in the incident.
