Houston police have learned a man involved in a crash at 6000 South Freeway (State Highway 288) service road about 2:30 p.m. last Thursday (October 15) died the following day.
The identity of the male victim, 18, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Pham reported:
The victim was driving a gray Volkswagen Jetta northbound on the service road near the above address, failed to control his speed and struck a tree. The victim went home after the crash.
Last Friday (October 16), the victim’s brother found him unresponsive at their residence in the 3600 block of Southmore. HFD paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased. At this time, it is believed the victim may have suffered a medical emergency, but it is unknown if his death was a result of the crash or a pre-existing medical condition.
The investigation is continuing.
