| Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 5900 Westheimer Road about 7:35 p.m. on Thursday (October 8).
The identity of the male victim, 67, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer J. Leon reported:
The victim left a nearby restaurant in a silver Mazda Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) to get medication after feeling ill. While driving westbound near the above address, the victim drove through the intersection of Fountainview Drive and crossed into oncoming eastbound traffic. The Mazda struck a black Acura MDX and then a white Toyota Camry. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The female driver of the Acura, 52, and the male driver of the Toyota 55, were not injured.
Investigators believe the victim may have suffered a medical emergency prior to the crash.
