Investigation into Man Found Deceased at 2502 1/2 Elysian Street

Houston police are investigating the death of a man found at 2502 1/2 Elysian Street about 1:30 p.m. on Saturday (Feb. 1).

The identity of the victim, 55, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives T. Colbert and M. Barrow reported:

Patrol officers responded to a person down call at the above address and found an unresponsive male inside an apartment with blunt force trauma to his body.  Witnesses went to check on the victim after not hearing from him.  They found his apartment unlocked and the victim unresponsive.  The witnesses then called 911.  Paramedics pronounced the man deceased.

At this time, there is no known suspect(s) or motive in the incident.
