| Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another man at 832 West Greens Road about 4:10 p.m. on Wednesday (January 1).
One victim, 31, was transported to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The second victim, 28, was also transported to a hospital and is expected to survive his wounds.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives C. Sharp and J. Brown reported:
The victim and another male were sitting in their vehicle, a red Jeep Compass, in an apartment complex parking lot at the above address when an unknown suspect got into the back seat of the vehicle to commit an attempted robbery. As the victims attempted to flee from the vehicle, both were shot.
The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown direction. The victims managed to drive their vehicle to a separate location and called 9-1-1. Paramedics responded to the scene and transported both men to the hospital.
