Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash at 90 Aldine Bender Road about 11 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 2).

The suspect, Carlos Aguilar-Rodriguez (H/m, 27), is charged in the 209th State District Court with two counts of failure to stop and render aid, one count of DWI with a child under 15 and one count of endangering a child.  A booking photo of Aguilar-Rodriguez is attached to this news release.

The identity of the deceased female victim, 40, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  A male victim, 41, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer F. Flynn reported:

The two victims, pedestrians, were crossing the street at the above address when they were struck by a white Chevrolet Tahoe whose male driver (Aguilar-Rodriguez) then fled the scene on foot, leaving some of his family members in the vehicle.  Paramedics transported the victims to an area hospital where the woman was later pronounced deceased.

Family members convinced Aguilar-Rodriguez to return the scene.  He returned several hours later and was taken into custody.
