Houston police are investigating the shooting of a male that occurred at 4503 Werner about 8:35 p.m. on Sunday (Oct. 6).
The victim was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Senior Police Officer S. Laird and Officer L. Bomanski reported:
According to witnesses, the victim was sitting outside his apartment drinking with a friend when the suspect, who was a few apartments away, threw a beer bottle at the victim. The victim and suspect then began fighting and the suspect called an unknown person who arrived in a red Chevrolet Tahoe. The suspect then got into the Tahoe and exited with a pistol. The suspect then shot at the victim several times. The victim fled into his apartment and the suspect followed him The suspect continued to shoot at the victim several more times before fleeing the scene. The victim sustained multiple gun shot wounds.
