| Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a shooting at 1607 Terry Street about 10 p.m. on Tuesday (September 24).
The suspect, Martin Wayne Garcia (H/m, 31) was transported to an area hospital in stable condition. He is charged with burglary of a habitation in the 182nd State District Court.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers B. Naughton and R. Naughton reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a residence at the above address and learned the victim and Garcia had been in a dating relationship that recently ended. When Garcia attempted to break in to the victim’s home through a bedroom window, the victim shot him once in the chest. Paramedics transported Garcia to the hospital.
He was subsequently charged for his role in the incident.
