WHAT: 4-Plex residential fire.

WHERE:7900 block of Leander St. 77012.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $20,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental due to an electrical malfunction.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within a minute to find smoke coming from a 4-plex residence. They made an offensive attack and quickly extinguished the fire, containing it to the room of origin. A primary search was completed, and the American Red Cross was notified to assist the residents. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. Crews from Stations 23, 20, 26, 29, 40 and 24 responded to this incident.
