Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of two women and one man at 10580 Hammerly Boulevard about 3:10 p.m. on Saturday (June 22).

The suspect, Bryan J. Fernandez Hernandez, 27, is charged with capital murder in the 183rd State District Court.  A booking photo of Fernandez Hernandez is attached to this news release.

The identities of the deceased women, 65 and 43, and the deceased man 38, are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives M. Barton and K. Amri reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a 9-1-1 call regarding a home invasion in-progress call at an apartment complex at the above address, resulting in the alleged burglars being shot by the tenant.  Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the tenant, later identified as Fernandez Hernandez, who stated he called 9-1-1 after shooting three home invaders in the apartment.

Further investigation and evidence from the scene determined a home invasion had not occurred and Fernandez Hernandez was detained.  Subsequent investigation determined Fernandez Hernandez shot three of his family members inside the apartment and then called 9-1-1.  It was learned the older female family member lived in the apartment and the two other family members had been staying there and visiting for several days.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and Fernandez Hernandez was subsequently charged for his role in the shooting.
