Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 712 Pinemont Drive about 10:50 p.m. on June 15, 2017.
The suspect, Quintella Zenay Williams (b/f, 22), is charged with capital murder in the 185th State District Court. She is accused in the killing of Alexander Ortega, 22, who died at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Young and E. Contreras reported:
A Houston Community College patrol officer was flagged down regarding a shooting at the above address and was directed to a vehicle stopped in the main lanes of North Shepherd Drive, just south of Pinemont. The officer observed a male(Mr. Ortega) with an apparent gunshot wound.
Witnesses stated the shooting happened outside the apartment complex at 712 Pinemont, and Ortega drove away and then stopped the vehicle on North Shepherd.
A preliminary investigation and witness statements led to a composite sketch being released to the public on July 11, 2017.
Further investigation developed information that identified Williams as the suspect in this case. She was located by the HPD North Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team on Tuesday (August 14) and was taken into custody without incident.
