2nd UPDATE: Second Suspect Arrested, Charged in June Fatal Shooting at 5919 Beldart Street

Charges have been filed against a second suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 5919 Beldart Street about 7:50 p.m. on June 27. The suspect, Kevontae Marquise Kemp, 17, is charged with capital murder in the 176th State District Court.  A booking photo of Kemp is attached to this news release.

The other suspect, D’ Andre Vasquez, 19, is charged with capital murder in the 177th State District Court.  His booking photo is also attached to this news release.  The victim is identified as Plezher Wooley, 18.  HPD Homicide Division Sergeant N. Lazo and Detective M. Providence reported:  HPD patrol officers and Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to a shooting at a residence at the above address and found Mr. Wooley lying on the front patio.  He had suffered a gunshot wound.  HFD paramedics transported Wooley to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  At that time, there was no known motive or suspect(s) description.  Further investigation identified Vasquez as a suspect in this case and he was arrested on July 25 by officers with the HPD Southeast Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team.

The investigation continued and led to the identity of Kemp as a second suspect.  On Wednesday (Sept. 20), Kemp was taken into custody by HPD Southeast Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team officers and then booked into the Harris County Jail.
