WHAT: 2-alarm warehouse fire.
WHEN: May 7, 2023 at 1:02 p.m.
WHERE: 11110 Wallisville Rd. 77013.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: Nearly $130,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $308,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to find a large warehouse fully involved on fire and made an offensive attack while protecting a nearby building. Due to the amount of fire involved, crews switched to a defensive mode and second alarm was requested. Hazardous Materials teams responded and tested both the runoff and air quality and determined they were both within safe limits. The fire was extinguished, and a skid steer was used to move most of the smoldering debris. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. Firefighters from Stations 17, 15, 23, 19, 20, 34, 45, 27, 32, 39, 41, 42, 43, 44, 53, 11, 18, 8, 24, 30, Rescue 42, Rehab 17 and Hazmat 22 responded to this incident.
