2-Alarm Apartment Fire in The Westwood Area

 

WHAT: 2-Alarm Apartment Fire

WHEN: February 27, 2022 at 1:34 p.m.

WHERE: 10000 Club Creek, 77036

INJURIES: No reported injuries.

PROPERTY SAVED: $336 thousand in estimated property saved.

DAMAGE: Seven apartment units suffered from severe fire damage and nine units had extreme smoke and water damage.

CAUSE: Intentional (set by juveniles)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find heavy fire coming from a 2-story apartment. They confined the fire and conducted a primary search of the building. A second alarm was requested within about 15 minutes and the fire was tapped out at about 2:15 p.m. Seven apartment units suffered from severe fire damage and the other (nine) units in the building had extreme smoke and water damage. The American Red Cross was requested to assist the displaced families. HFD Arson investigators were on scene to determine the cause and origin of the fire. Firefighters from Stations 57, 24, 37, 68, 8, 75, 49, 76, 69, 51, 28, 83, 73, 60, 10, 2, 82, Rehab 17, Rescue 10 and Heavy Rescue 11 responded to this incident.
