2-Alarm Apartment Fire in The Westchase Area

WHAT: 2-Alarm Apartment Fire

WHEN: November 19, 2021 at 4:39 a.m.

INJURIES: No reported injuries.

PROPERTY SAVED: More than $1 million in estimated property saved.

DAMAGE: $250 thousand in estimated damage.

CAUSE: Under Investigation.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to find fire coming from the end unit of a 2-story apartment building. Heavy smoke was coming from the attic space as well. Crews made an attack and contained the fire. A primary search was conducted and was all clear. Firefighters ventilated the building and a second alarm was requested for additional manpower; however, the crews were not used and were returned to service. Property conservation was completed, and HFD Arson investigators initiated an investigation into the cause and origin of the fire. CenterPoint arrived on scene and conducted an assessment. Crews from Stations 28, 78, 83, 76, 69, 75 and 37 responded to this incident.
