WHAT: 2-Alarm Apartment Fire.
WHEN: August 15, 2022 at 12:11 p.m.
WHERE: 9755 Court Glen Dr. 77099.
INJURIES: One firefighter with report of pain, went home private vehicle.
PROPERTY SAVED: $685,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $250,000 in estimated damage (8 units damaged).
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find heavy smoke coming from the second floor of a 2-story apartment building. Additional HFD units were requested, and they made an attack on the fire while crews conducted a primary search. There were no victims found, however multiple pets were rescued. The fire was upgraded to a second alarm and firefighters initiated a defensive attack. Rehab was established with a Metro unit for a cooling station. The fire was controlled and tapped out at 1:14 p.m. with eight units damaged by fire, smoke and water. The American Red Cross responded and assisted the displaced residents. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. One firefighter reported pain and was cleared to go home to recover once her unit was cleared from the scene. Firefighters from Stations 51, 69, 2, 15, 23, 28, 78, 83, 21, 48, 57, 68, 73, 75, 76, 80, 82, 82, 11, 8, 10, 15, 37, Rescue 10 and Rehab 8 responded to this incident.
