WHAT: 2-Alarm Apartment Fire

INJURIES: HFD transported one civilian to the hospital for injuries sustained after jumping from a window to escape the fire.
PROPERTY SAVED: More than $1.9 million in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $825 thousand in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under Investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to find fire coming from the first and second floors of a apartment building. They began an offensive attack and conducted a primary search with no one found. The fire progressed and crews switched to a defensive attack. The fire was upgraded to a second alarm and firefighters worked to cut off the fire from spreading into the attached townhomes. Crews extinguished the fire at about 3:50 a.m. and requested HFD Arson investigators to determine the cause and origin. HFD transported one civilian to the hospital for injuries sustained after jumping from a window to escape the fire. Firefighters from Stations 10, 76, 2, 15, 28, 68, 78, 83, 51, 60, 69, 73, 75, 8, 37, 24, 57, Heavy Rescue 11, Rescue 10 and Rehab 17 responded to this incident.
