Suspect Charged, Wanted in Shooting at 8000 Howton

Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the shooting of a man at 8000 Howton about 4 p.m. on Monday (January 8).

The suspect, Cordiere Williams (b/m, 21), is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 178th State District Court for his role in the shooting of Don Roberson, 46, who was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition.

A previous booking photo of Williams, who is not in custody, is attached to this news release.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Thomas and Detective R. Moss reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found Mr. Roberson had been shot several times and the suspect had fled the scene.  Further investigation identified Williams as the suspect in this case and he was subsequently charged.
