Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 1114 Choate Circle Drive

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and a woman and the apparent suicide of a man at 1114 Choate Circle Drive about 9:05 p.m. on Thursday (May 23).

The identities of the male, 17, and female, 23, victims are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The male suspect, 26, was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant N. Lazo and Detective M. Providence reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a residence at the above address and found an unresponsive woman with multiple gunshot wounds in the kitchen.  A male with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound was found lying next to her.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the woman deceased.  The male (suspect) was transported to the hospital and pronounced deceased today (May 24).

An initial investigation determined a second male had been shot multiple times and was transported by a family member to a nearby HFD station before officers arrived.  The male was then transported to UTMB Health Clear Lake Campus Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Further investigation determined the woman and the suspect were previously in a dating relationship. The 17-year-old male was the cousin of the female victim’s current partner.

The investigation is continuing.
