Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 16900 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) about 4:05 a.m. today (April 11).
The identities of the deceased male, 22, and female, 24, are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer S. Bourarar reported:
The female was driving a white Cadillac CTS southbound – wrong way – in the northbound lanes of the freeway. The Cadillac struck a gray Nissan Altima traveling northbound.
Houston Fired Department paramedics pronounced the male driver of the Nissan deceased at the scene.
Paramedics transported the female driver of the Cadillac to an area hospital where doctors later pronounced her deceased.
The investigation is continuing.
