WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: March 23, 2024, at 11:54 p.m.
WHERE: 6300 West Bend St. 77085.
INJURIES: One pet was treated by HFD EMS and recovered. One pet was found deceased.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $300,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find a house on fire and made a defensive attack. Once conditions improved, they switched to an offensive attack and conducted a primary search. One pet was found and improved after crews gave it oxygen. Another pet was found deceased. The fire was extinguished and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. The American Red Cross was notified to assist the family. 37 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 47, 82, 2, 28, 59, 21, 33, 80, 24, 55 and 57.
